Fish Dinner $3.50 each or 4 packs for $12
Frozen Food for Fish, Turtles and Axolotls
Fact Sheet
Although dry food is a normal basic food for aquarium
and pond fish, they benefit from a variety of food. While live foods
may well be the best foods, it is not always possible to provide a
steady supply. Frozen food can be kept in the freezer and used as
needed.
The same precautions which apply to frozen human food
should be followed with frozen animal foods. For example keep it
frozen until you are ready to use it. If you are only using part of
the food, break off what you need and immediately return the rest to
the freezer.
There are many brands of frozen food for aquatic
animals. In our shop we have tried several, but the one we find to be
the best is the Fish Dinner range, made by the Fish Fuel Co of
Thebarton, South Australia. This company sends its products all round
Australia and to New Zealand. We are very lucky to have this company
in our state.
The most popular of their products is Turtle Dinner.
This is an excellent basic food for turtles. It has a vitamin and
mineral mix designed specifically for turtles, and contains enough
Calcium for them.
There are specific foods in their range for several
groups of fish, including Discus, Cichlids, Goldfish, marine and
vegetable loving marine fish. The company also makes a ‘Community
Dinner’ for mixed fish and beef heart for axolotls and many types of
fish.
In addition to these the Fish Fuel Co sells frozen
brine shrimp and frozen bloodworms. Based on the reaction of most fish
and turtles, their favourite frozen food is bloodworms.
Fish Dinner in its many types comes in a 100g pack with thirty five seperate push out squares.
Our Price for these 100g packs is $3.50 each or 4 packs for $12
The Kong's brand of Blood Worms
comes in a 100g flat pack which looks a little like chocolate block.
This costs $3.50 each or 4 packs for $12.
Frozen Brine Shrimp is $4.50 for 100g.
